In my attempts to truly test the resilience of the FX-8350's IMC, I have taken upon the challenge of getting my 32gb kit of 2400mhz Trident X ram to run at its 2400mhz speed on my Crosshair V formula-z motherboard.
Now, from what I have read from both G.skill and many other sources, it is supposedly very difficult to achieve a stable configuration on the FX-8350 platform with such a high density of 32gb at 2400mhz. It supposedly stresses the IMC greatly.
With that being said, I have had no issues at all achieving such a feat.
Moreover, I did not have to overclock the CPU at all. Running idle at 35c.
I simply set the ram manually in UEFI to 2400mhz, the 1.65v, and cas latency timings of 10-12-12-31 2T.
I've had no issues with Prime95, games (Far Cry 3:blood dragon), or basic web surfing.
Is there something I am missing ? I would suspect that possibly achieving that memory frequency for stability would only be difficult when ALSO trying to overclock the processor to a stable frequency .
I don't understand why others have said that it is difficult to fully saturate 4dimms with 32gb at 2400mhz on an FX-8350.
I may just end up going with a Titan or GTX 690 if Nvidia decides to be a bunch of bitches and hold off the GTX 700 series till next year. I would like to know when they DO plan to release the 700 series so I can know whether to wait till they release (that is if its within the next month or so) or just say screw it and get a card now (if they decide to release them next year).
Its funny you say that as it was just revealed today that Nvidia is supposedly going to be releasing the GTX 700 series cards in mid-May. The flagship GTX 780 will essentially be the GTX Titan "LE" that sites have speculated on for some time. Its basically a dumbed down Titan with less cuda cores and 5gb of memory vs 6gb.
If this is the case, then I will most likely go for a GTX Titan or Titan Ultra when it releases. Spend the extra bucks and get a better card.

Unfortunately I am not sure what the batch number is. I am assuming that I would need to see the top of the heatspreader (clean of any thermal compound residue) to find the batch number.
If any of you know another way to find the batch number on my 8350, then I would be happy to provide that information.
