can't disable speed step etc. (no overlcock)

i'm having problems. mobo: maximus iv gene-z/gen3.

i just want my cpu to run at 3.3GHz (i5 2500k) before i try to overclock. but it always runs at 1.6 to 3.7GHz. i've disabled intel speed step and all C1 C6 etc, but it still runs at between 16 and 37 multi. any help please

already have, same problem. i think it's some setting in the bios i'm missing

Could you post up screens (F12 to screen capture with a fat formatted USB) of what you have changed in the bios for the CPU.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Setting the Windows power plan to high performance will override anything set in the BIOS/UEFI. This may be an operating system issue.

i haven't changed anything further in bios and was already set to high performance in windows, but for some reason all is working ok today @ 3.3GHz. cheers for the responses though
