Sorry to disappoint. While ROG Connect will change some BIOS clock and voltage settings via a second computer, it cannot manage a BIOS update let alone the ME update we need for the 4790K.

I upgraded this M6F while it still had a 4770K installed. This thread goes into the process which worked for me. The thread also has a lot of discussion about other possibilities, most of which don't work. Many users in the position of a new M6F and only a 4790K have the same problem.

According to reports, trying a 4790K without the ME upgrade will not boot. I think some choices are:
1. Return the M6F and get a Maximus VII, either Hero or Gene now, or you could wait a couple of weeks for the Formula to become available.
2. Borrow a non-refresh Haswell to get into Windows and run the update. That could be ANY CPU that uses the LGA-1150 socket - Pentium or Celeron even as long as it is one of the original Haswell models rather than a Haswell Refresh.
3. Have a computer repair shop do the upgrade using one of their testing CPUs.
I know this isn't much help, but it's what I can offer.
