Can fan xpert 1 control 3 pin case fans?

as per title: Can fan xpert 1 control 3 pin case fans? i've read that fan xpert II can, but i'm not sure about fan xpert I (i have and will soon be installing maximus iv gene z/ gen3 which comes with ai suite II, not III which has 3 pin fan control-ability in fan xpert II)
