Brand new gaming PC. First time OC. i7 6700K

Level 7

After getting alot of help from Nate getting my PC up and running (bad cpu 😞 ) I could use alot of help OCing/Tweaking my PC.
I've never done this before so yes... i'm clueless.

My setup:

- ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Ranger (BIOS 1701)
- ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Turbo
- Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake
- Corsair RM750x 750W PSU
- Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666MHz 16GB (2x8)
- Corsair Carbide Quiet 400Q Midi Tower
- Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler (2 fans)
- Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250gb

At this moment i've loaded default settings in BIOS.
If there is anything else that i have to write down please let me know.

I wont have alot of time now because of timezones (08:00 PM) But i would gladly like to hear what i can start with and start tweaking seriously this weekend.

Hi dacster

Thank you for listing your pc specs.

The first thing I will have you do is install these three programs:

1) ROG Realbench for stability testing.

2) ROG CPU-Z for cpu frequency and voltage monitoring. Near the top of this page click setup in the ROG version, then click download now, then click run.

3) Real Temp 3.70 for cpu temp monitoring.

Once you get these installed open up all three programs, let's do a test at default settings and see where temps are and how much voltage the cpu is drawing. In Realbench click stress test beside benchmark, select how many GB of ram you have and select duration 15 minutes.

Click start and monitor real temp for cpu temps and cpu-z for the voltage which is the vcore, if the temp goes over 90c stop the test immediately.

Please tell me what the temps are and what the vcore is showing during the test.
