Boot Problems Maximus Hero VI Motherboard

Ok, where to begin.

Ok I have a new PC since 2 weeks. Here are my specs:
Power supply OCZ 700 watts
Windows 7 Ultimate Edition ‎(X64)‎ Service Pack 1
Intel Core i7 4770K clocked at 3.50 GHz (Socket 1150 LGA)
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. MAXIMUS VI HERO Rev 1.xx (Bios version: 0804)
CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1600MHZ DDR3 16GB KIT CL9 (16 GB : 2 x 8 GB)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
Screen: LG Electronics Inc. W2442 (HDMI)

Maybe since a week ago, everytime I have to reboot my computer after any new installation on my computer (drivers, new software, etc...) my computer boots into a black screen nothing loads even my mouse and keyboard. So I have to reset and after that reset my computer boots into windows.

Ok so a week (it's today) pass and then I decided to install Asus Suite III, so I tried the 4-way Optimization to overclock a little bit, everything went well until it asked me to reboot to finish the work. So when I rebooted same story like a told in the last paragraph. After my computer booted into windows it finished the work.

Then I updated my BIOS from factory 0224 to 0804. So I had to reboot my computer one last time and then my computer made the long beep followed by 3 short beeps, it means No VGA detected. So I tried to restart many times until I
succeed to enter the BIOS and reset to default. After that I finally loaded Windows.

So can I ask here what hapenned? is my motherboard faulty? or my VGA? or my Power Supply has not enough power to run my computer normally? Any ideas? If something is wrong, faster I know faster I can switch the hardware for a new one in my store.

Thank you,

Last one thing,
When I changed my power management plan in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options
I set "Turn off the display after to 30 minutes" and set "Put the computer to sleep to Never" But when I restart my computer the setting "Put the computer to sleep" set back to 1 hour even if I create a new plan setting.

Wow finally it works! The Wake on Lan worked.
Before your post I saw this solution on every page I looked on Google but why I didn't try it before because the steps that they are telling me to use aren't the same exactly.
Everything goes well from:
Right click "My Computer"
Select "Properties"
Go to "Hardware Device"
Click "Device Manager"
Select "Network Adapters"
Select "Intel(r) Ethernet Connection I1217-V--> right click ---properties--->power management-->

But then these things aren't the same:
deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"--->Go to "Advanced" tab--->put value off for "Wake from shut down" --->value none for "Wake up capabilities"
press OK

When I go to Power Management Tab I have these options
Power Saver Options:
- Respond to ARP resquests without waking system (it is checked by default)
- Respond to NS resquestes without waking system (it is checked by default)
- Energy Efficient Ethernet (it is checked by default)
- Reduce link speed duting standby (it is checked by default)
- Reduce ling speed during system idle (it is unchecked by default)

Wake on LAN:
- Wake on Magic Packet (it is checked by default but I unchecked it)
- Wake on Pattern Match (it is checked by default but I unchecked it)
- Wake on Magic Packet from power off state (it is unchecked by default)
- Wake on Link Settings (it is unchecked by default)

So I change only these "Wake on Magic Packet" and "Wake on Pattern Match" and now it's shutting down my computer.

Thank you very much,
I hope to not have anymore problems,
And I hope it helps maybe other users!

Nice one! glad you are almost trouble free:D Though the last thing has me wondering...you are saving setting...clicking "Apply" when you change the power plan? can't think why that wouldn't stick:confused:

I found it ! Exactly what I thought.
In ASUS AI Suite III In EPU Tab, in the Auto TAB is set to Enable Away mode and the time Monitor off is 30 minutes and sleep 1 hour!! That'S why my options in windows were always modified by ASUS software.

Another crime solved!

Could the Asus Suite III Software interfere with some computer settings?

You know I have never been a big fan, but I must say the AIsuite3 is growing on me. Still needs some tweaking for sure, but it does pretty much what it says it will do.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I even think that the software was responsible for my shut down problem. Need to check but for now I'll rest. Lol

Well, it's not my favorite software...I tried version 2 along time ago...caused all sorts of headaches....reinstalled OS without it and problems disappeared...

Apparently it's OK if it's the only program of its kind on the PC but if you have any other monitoring or OC stuff for CPU or GPUs then things can get tricky...

But sure I can imagine you want to rest up for now;)

Really that's actually good to know....like I said tried version II a long time ago and haven't been back what with reading threads here all the time.....no one would be happier than me if AI suite got itself together....If ASUS start making software like they make hardware we're in for a treat...
