Boot Problems Maximus Hero VI Motherboard

Ok, where to begin.

Ok I have a new PC since 2 weeks. Here are my specs:
Power supply OCZ 700 watts
Windows 7 Ultimate Edition ‎(X64)‎ Service Pack 1
Intel Core i7 4770K clocked at 3.50 GHz (Socket 1150 LGA)
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. MAXIMUS VI HERO Rev 1.xx (Bios version: 0804)
CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1600MHZ DDR3 16GB KIT CL9 (16 GB : 2 x 8 GB)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
Screen: LG Electronics Inc. W2442 (HDMI)

Maybe since a week ago, everytime I have to reboot my computer after any new installation on my computer (drivers, new software, etc...) my computer boots into a black screen nothing loads even my mouse and keyboard. So I have to reset and after that reset my computer boots into windows.

Ok so a week (it's today) pass and then I decided to install Asus Suite III, so I tried the 4-way Optimization to overclock a little bit, everything went well until it asked me to reboot to finish the work. So when I rebooted same story like a told in the last paragraph. After my computer booted into windows it finished the work.

Then I updated my BIOS from factory 0224 to 0804. So I had to reboot my computer one last time and then my computer made the long beep followed by 3 short beeps, it means No VGA detected. So I tried to restart many times until I
succeed to enter the BIOS and reset to default. After that I finally loaded Windows.

So can I ask here what hapenned? is my motherboard faulty? or my VGA? or my Power Supply has not enough power to run my computer normally? Any ideas? If something is wrong, faster I know faster I can switch the hardware for a new one in my store.

Thank you,

It does sound like a display or GPU related problem. Did you ever try uninstalling the graphics driver in Safe Mode with a program like Driver Sweeper or Driver Fusion...and then reinstalling the latest WHQL driver?

Any thing logged in Event Viewer?

Also double check that the card is properly seated in the recommended slot...sometimes cases can interfere slightly with seating...that sort of thing.

Thank you Chino,

To answer your question, I download the bios version vrom Asus website (" http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VI_HERO/#support_Download_30 ") and then I used EZ update that come with ASUS SUITE III with EZ Update.

To answer Arne Saknussemm,
I have double check my video card its properly seated and its really tight :).
I didn't try yet to uninstall my drivers in safemod yet to reinstall it.
And in event viewer where I should look or for what I should look? I got like 2 critical Event ID 10110 DriverFrameworks-UserMod.

Thank you,

Hmmm those critical events sound like a good lead. I'm not too hot knowing what code is what but Google might tell you what they mean. I would definitely try clean installing display driver...the BIOS update is best done with EZ flash in the BIOS. Doing it from within windows is not a good idea...much more prone to problems...

I looked really fast about these critical error and its about putting to sleep your computer. I'm putting my computer to sleep because I dont want to shut down my computer anymore because of my booting problem :S So I don't know, I'll try to uninstall and reinstall my VGA drivers in safemod, right?à

Thank you.

I have downloaded Driver Sweeper. So I rebooted in Safemode, Cleaned Nvidia drivers, display, and whatever you can clean with this software for Nvidia. I rebooted 2 times in Safemode to be sure to have deleted all drivers from my video card. Then I installed the new drivers from Nvidia website 327.23-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-whql. Everything went well during installation. So yes, I rebooted my computer after installation to get to the normal windows and had the long beep followed by 3 short beeps. But my computer booted to Windows 7 and everything went perfect even after the beeps.

So I think about my HDMI that is plugged from my graphic card to my screen. Since I plugged HDMI when my screen turn off after 30 minutes and I move my mouse to turn it on back, I hear 2 times the sound that it makes when you unplug a USB from your computer and after the unplug sound I hear the plug-in sound and then my screen turns on. Maybe it's a problem with my HDMI cable that is good quality. Maybe I should try DVI cable?

Can I even try my second PCI-E Slot ?

Finally I went to conclusion that HDMI cable was the problem when computer was booting up. I switched to DVI-D and no problem anymore. Maybe the HDMI cable is broken but I always use it for my PS3 with no problem on the same screen that I use for my Computer. Anyway no more beeps on powering up my computer and everytime I restart my computer it loads to Windows.

But now I found another problem since I think I updated my BIOS, when I'm shutting down my computer it restarts. I looks in APM (Power Management) and everything is on Disabled and on AC power Loss is set to Power off. I tried a registry trick to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and "PowerdownAfterShutdown". I can't believe what is happenning with my new computer.

Uff well, glad swapping the cable sorted stuff out...sometimes happens like that...a cble you think is fine seems to throw a wobbly on another system...

Apart from BIOS power settings check OS settings for network adapter etc...wake on LAN or Wake on USB.....sometimes Performance profile can mess with things....
