Black SCREEN NO OC

I've had this issue on and off for the past 1 month, computer has all setting to optimized default. I've tested it both with XMP mode 1 and default 1333 frequency. Comp does not want to go to sleep at all, and when it does and I wake it up black screen. Keyboard and mouse both get power and it looks like comp is on. Way around to fix is resetting comp and loading it up. Once I reset comp often it says that overclocking failed I F1 and F10 then it loads windows 8.1 normally. GPU are OC to 1135 1525, but this happens even when GPU are in stock clocks.

The only way I got sleep to work is with AI 3 setting in EPU BUT when it did wake up it was PAINFULLY slow and it always gave me a dipawaymode.exe error had to manually close the error in task manager.

Hi Watitsthis and Welcome to ROG

According to Microsoft, the waking up to black screen is a driver issue.

Have you seen this: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-hardware/black-screen-after-waking-from-...

Other issues are the waking up unexpectantly, which are settings within windows config.

I had the same problem with the r9 290X's. I found instead of 'resetting' I used CTRL/ALT/DEL to wake the monitor and then CANCEL to get back to desktop. It is an AMD driver thing and I couldn't find the cure so I switched back to nVidia.

I tried doing windows fixes in the beginning but nothing seems to work. The CTRL+ALT+DEL does not work with me does not wake monitor, like I said the only thing that can be done is with AI 3 Suite then yes I can do CTRL+ALT+DEL but I run into a dipawaymode.exe error.

Any other suggestion?

Did you try uninstalling (KB2919355) update for W8.1, if this is your OS.

I also tried going to AMD 13.12 since I read a lot of people having issues with AMD drivers, after multiple attempt at installing 13.12 and 14.4 (the system would give me black screen during install) I manage to install 14.4 with sapphire trix at VDC 75% and staggering install.

Thank you for the prompt response I look in control panel and I do not have that update install I have 2919394 that's about it in the 19 range. Should I uninstall that one?
