Best connection

Any views on how to connect my msi 690gtx to my dell ultrasharp U2711 would be helpful.

Dual dvi or mdp to dp cable.

Dual dvi seems to be the old standard that most use.

I have read that displayport 1.2 has a greater bandwidth and 2.1 sound ( I brought the sound bar, thought it might come of use).

The 690gtx has a mini displayport connection (1.2 according to nvidia website [comments please as i could not confirm]).

The U2711 has displayport ( cannot confirm revision but think it is dp not mdp [is there a difference] )

Does an mdp to dp cable affect bandwidth etc.

Have spent a while with google on these questions and am now more confused than when I started, so I have come to the forum with sensible answers. I'm sure you wont let me down.

Using windws 7 in case that makes any odds.

Mini-displayport to displayport should not affect bandwidth, at least, not in ways that matter. Displayport is a newer standard, and carries audio too, if that is a consideration. For display quality, both will be fine, since they are both digital connections.
