After the agesa 1.2.0.0 bios update for Asus Strix-F B550, I could not increase the boost more than 200 mhz for my 5600x. It was possible with earlier bioses but the motherboard does not allow me to downgrade the bios either. I read that other brand boards also have this limitation with the latest bioses. I know that my cpu can boost to more than 4.85 ghz since I have a good optimized curve. Is this limitation a bug with new bioses or is it intentional? I think it should be up to the user to choose the boost.
Try entering a manual value under the AMD Overclocking Menu for PBO settings.
It is not possible to enter a manual value, that field is a combobox now with values from 0-200 mhz. I tried to leave it on zero and override it with the pbo boost field on the AI Tweaker section but it didnt boost past 200 mhz either.
I am quite annoyed with this, I think there is a bug in the bios. Normally the value under AI Tweaker - PBO - Max CPU Boost Clock Override should "override" the value under AMD Overclocking - PBO - Max CPU Boost Clock Override, but it does not work. We need a new bios with this fixed, otherwise the only option to boost over 4.85 ghz is static overclocking, which requires lots of voltage to get stable.
