Asus X99 Deluxe wont run G.Skill memory at XMP for s**t

i've never had issues like this before. the motherboard will not boot with the memory at XMP settings. the derailed specs are in the signature.

it seems like the motherboard only reads the timings from the memory module and not the voltages. BIOS is up to date

And I have Gskill 16GB 3000 and 32GB 2666, both will run at XMP speed, both will run at 3200mhz with the memory presets in the RVE bios, I set both RAM voltages manually, the one in the dram section to the recommended voltage, the one on the main page to .05 volts higher to help get thru boot up. Both sets ran XMP settings on my X99 Deluxe board that I used until I could get a RVE. I prefer Corsair Dominator but the Gskill was available and less expensive.
I would say my CPU is average, my Motherboard is above average:)
I have been using this system for benching not daily use, CPU input 1.92 volts, VCSSA 1.05 volts
Bios 0007 to 0802 been good for me

G.Skill and Corsair should certainly be compatible with DLX and R5E. We've done a lot of validation on it. 2800+ needs the 125MHz strap though, which is a notch of difficulty upwards for the CPU. Have you tried manual OC up to 2666/2800 on your 3000 to see if you can get that far at least?

Please look at this article for more suggestions - the 'Third Tier Memory Timings Are Key' and 'DRAM Voltage and POST'

Hello

Completely in agreement. Any issues would not be due to compatibility.

Praz and MarshallR@ASUS are spot on.

The ability to run RAM over 2133MHz depends on the quality of the CPU's IMC. RAM rated for 3000MHz is guaranteed to achieve that frequency provided that your CPU can handle it. When it comes to overclocking headroom, it comes down to lottery really. You can buy two identical kits from the same product line and from the same manufacturer. But they won't have the same level of overclockability.

ASUS's automatic scaling parameters are some of the best in the business. So if you enabled XMP and you failed to post, most probably you have a below average CPU and will need manual adjustment.

I didn't have time to do multiple passes like Praz did. But here's a quick test with the Ripjaws 4 3000MHz overclocked to 3200MHz with the same timings with a slight 0.03V increase in DRAM voltage.

Try resetting to optimized defaults, save and restart, then XMP and save. Change nothing else - see if that works first.
