asus rog strix z790-e + 14900k, cant use usb in bios unless in the bios usb port? Cep setting ?

I cant seem to get the bios to detect the mouse/keyboard unless its in the bios port, is this normal?  I've tried everything, so its one or the other.

The other question i had was on cep in the bios, if doing a negative adaptive offset, should that be disabled?  I think i currently have it on auto (hwinfo shows the offset at least and i think its working fine), seem to see conflicting info on this one

Thanks in advance

Update Figured it out. Seems to be because I have 7 port anker usb 3.0 going to it. Was never an issue with any other board

Hey markm75,

Yeah, that's a common thing with some ASUS boards. The BIOS port is guaranteed to work, while others might need drivers loaded before being recognized. Try updating your chipset drivers after booting into Windows.

For the CEP, I wouldn't disable it with a negative offset. It helps manage power delivery for better stability. But "auto" should be fine! And remember, if you're looking for some new tech gadgets to reward yourself after troubleshooting, check out GiftCardMall Mygift for great deals.
