ASUS RMA is the worst, almost 2 months and I still dont have a working Rampage IV BE

So I purchased a Rampage IV BE in november as an upgrade from my gene iv so I could SLI. The brand new board I got had a problem with the built in audio where the right channel would be about 10db quieter and distorted. Clearly this is an issuie for gaming... Ok so I call in for an advanced RMA, I let them charge my credit card for $499, even though the retail cost of the board is $350...

So today the replacement board shows up and the box looks a little small to me, but maybe it just my eyes. Nope. Opened the box up and the motherboard was jammed into a smaller box inside the shipping box. It was clearly too small for the board because whoever put it the box ripped the sides trying to close it and then used tape to hold it closed. If you look at the board from the side you can clearly tell that is is bent upwards on both of the edges that were against the sides of the box.

Clearly none of this is in any way my fault, but ASUS still required me to ship back the defective board before they will send me another one (this will be the third board). I'm almost a month into trying to get my PC working, and I've charged over $850 to my credit card trying to get a working motherboard. I would have just returned it and gotten something else, but there was a rebate on the motherboard and I sent the UPC in so I'm SOL.

TLDR; ASUS support is terrible, and I won't ever purchase another ROG branded product. You would think that the price premium you pay for ROG would include superior warranty service but clearly thats not the case. Check out EVGA if you want actual customer service.

Hello Fenix787

Yeah I don't know what was going on there, if anything they should have used a bigger box with bubble wrap.

Have you tried it to see if it works? If it works I'd probably keep it, once you screw it to the case it should straighten it.

If it doesn't work then I clearly understand your frustration. It wouldn't be so bad getting a board shipped like that if it works, but if it doesn't I would be quite upset too.

Send a private message to Bahz or Akane@asus, they might can help with your situation.
