Asus GTX 770 Overclock

Hello people, so I got my Asus GTX 770 today yeahhhhhhh and am very pleased with results. Like seriously this card man...

Anyway I got that GPU tweak to go along with it, and noticed that the Asus cards are actually overclocks only a tiny tiny bit. Which might explain why I can go straight +149 on offset core no problem. I haven't messed with any other setting though, and my temps seem to go 72c highest. And across all games it gives a solid +10 fps which is great. I just want to make sure if this is safe? Like I said all I done was increase core boost clock to max with gpu tweak, which is +149.

i would say google can be your friend lol i usually google card overclocks myself to see what others have just remember all chips arnt always equal

with that being said if you see other with ur speed or even higher then you should be fine, id just say after that maybe stress test the card to see if artifacts show up or anything of that nature, and if all thats good run a stress test by using as you normally would but to an extreme lol cause as youll see in alot of threads ppl will sometimes stress test there cards and they pass, but the game just crashes

like typically lets say all the above looks good, and normally you'd play a game or something for 2-4 hours, if you kick that up to like 6-8 hours and have no heat issues and no artifact issues your probly golden

hmm so how do I stress test my GPU? And yeah I did search up but couldn't really find anything, I did find one website where they, like me, just put the core boost clock to +149 which is max in gpu tweak, no problem. Same with that guy from Youtube TechofTomrrow I think it's called, he done the same exact same thing and said it was safe.

Unigne Heaven (dont think thats spelled right at all lol), 3dmark, there are a few thatll just test the GPU, asus has there own stress test and benchmark program called Realbench but ive personally never used it so im unsure if its a full system test or if it can be changed for specific things

different ones may test different things but what they all do basically is load ur video card to 100% usage and then try playing the graphics to the screen, artifacts will normally appear if the card needs a lil more juice, but sometimes also may appear if the cards pushed to far, youve probly seen artifacts even if you didnt realize it before, they can be just strange out of place colors or most commonly they be little squares that look like there part of the Matrix Movies Code lol, typically they show up green but not always

Alright I got 3dmark actually, bought it on a steam sale lol. So if I go through those and do that firestrike and the extreme one, at +149 boost clock and it all goes through, without the temps going to high (below 80c)...I guess it's all good?

yea, after that playing games like normal will be a test as well, if ur monitoring program saves the highest temp just check it the first couple times after ya play, if its good then your good

If your temps are OK and the system is stable, then you're good to go!
