ASUS G551JW GTX 960 Guide for Games performance Stress .

Hello .

Well This is my first Gaming Laptop from ASUS G551JW GTX 960 , Finally i did many games stress performance tests to inform those people who are interested to buy this Model ,But of course every Company contains a negatives & positives in Hardware Designing . This Topic is full detailed for GTX 960M Stress and CPU i7-4770H stress test performance .:o

In my opinion, I bought this laptop to Capture Games walkthrough instead of using a standard laptop . I use Miliries Action Capture recording program because many impressive options included . Take a look on these Estimated results from my own Experiments .

GTX 960M ( Standard ) Not OverClocked

Skyrim : 60FPS /FULL HD/Max options without Anti Analise/Ultra modded/GPU Temp 78C *** The frame rates drop to 50 When casting some Midas magic heavy spells that contains a lot of Scripts .

Skyrim + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : FPS between 55-60/Max options without Anti Analise/Ultra modded/GPU Temp 81C *** FPS drop to 45 when getting some hits from enemies and using some spells ,Inside caves and Buildings FPS stuck at 60 all the time 😮

-----------------------------
Oblivion : 40FPS /FULL HD/Max options without Anti Analise/Ultra modded/GPU Temp 76C *** The frame rates drop to 30 When walking very fast around Environment , Inside Buildings FPS rises to 60 .

Oblivion + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : FPS between 25-30/Max options without Anti Analise/Ultra modded/GPU Temp 80C

---------------------------------------------------------

Dragon Age Origins : 60FPS /FULL HD/Max options without Anti Analise/GPU Temp 74C

Dragon Age Origins + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 :Between 55-60FPS /Max options without Anti Analise/GPU Temp 79C

------------------------------------------------------

Dragon Age 2 : 60FPS /FULL HD/Max options without Anti Analise/GPU Temp 72C ( Direct X 9 )

Dragon Age 2 + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : 60FPS /Max options without Anti Analise/GPU Temp 78C ( Direct X 9)

If you Selected Direct X 11 rendering the FPS will drop a very huge rate , sometimes drops to 30FPS . Actually i dont see ant differences the only horrible thing is changing is FPS drop so make sure you run the game with Dirext X 9 for best performance .

-------------------------------------------------------

Samurai warriors 4 : 60FPS /FULL HD/Max options/GPU Temp 73C

Samurai warriors 4 + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : 60FPS/GPU Temp 78C

---------------------------------------------------------

Resident Evil 4 Ultimate : 60FPS /FULL HD/Max options/GPU Temp 75C

Resident Evil 4 Ultimate + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : Between 50-60FPS/GPU Temp 81C

-----------------------

Trine 3 : 50-60FPS /FULL HD/Max options/GPU Temp 77C

Trine 3 + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : Between 35-50FPS/GPU Temp 81C

--------------------------

Trine 2 : 60FPS /FULL HD/Max options/GPU Temp 76C

Trine 2 + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : Between 50-60FPS/GPU Temp 80C

--------------------------

Dungeon Defenders : 60FPS /FULL HD/Max options/GPU Temp 75C

Dungeon Defenders + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : Depends on how much Objects in Map 25-60FPS/GPU Temp 81C

When you place many towers in the map and more enemies arrive the load will increase very fast to display things at 60FPS , For example the final Map "Crystalline Dimension" the FPS Drop to 25 with FULL GPU load .

--------------------------

Darksiders : 60FPS /FULL HD/Max options/GPU Temp 72C

Darksiders + Capture recording in Full HD 1920x1080 : 60FPS /GPU Temp 78C

---------------------------

The Following results maybe very horrible to hear :
GPU MAX Temp : 75C
The tempreture designed in this model is worse than other models , Because Most of Graphic Cards from Nvidia can Handle Max stress with 99% Load would be 90C , So 75C is the minimum rate for GTX 960 "I Suspected they want customers to buy newer models to make more money instead of making a real gaming notebook " .

CPU MAX Temp : 90C
Sounds good about CPU and no complains about processor 🙂

TouchPad
Very Bad TouchPad design , its unplayable for games because the 2 buttons integrated in 1 button so u cannot Hold . Another problem is that some Delay when you move mouse cursor .

-----------
To increase GPU Temp to 82 you need to install BETA BIOS

Hope this was Helpful:o
