Hi, everyone. I just installed a ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard and am trying to install a AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor, but when I attempt to start the PC up the mobo comes up with the q-code ff. I slapped my old CPU (AMD Phenom II X4 925) and I can get it to boot right up. I thought it may be the CPU was DOA (but I am under the impression that its a pretty small chance) or perhaps I'm not getting it enough power as the PSU only has a 4 pin connector (not the 8-pin) . However, all the sites that ive visited suggest that it should be enough wattage to cover everything (EVGA 600B 600W)
I'm pretty inexperienced with PC building so I'm hoping it's something simple (like buying the appropriate adapter for the PSU) that I'm missing and not a dead CPU since I'm trying to only use the RMA process as a last resort.
Here are my current sytem specs.
