Hi

I'm starting a new build with a ASUS Maximus IV Extreme B3
4 Corsair CSSD-F90GB3-BK Force Series 3 Solid State Drive - 90GB, SATA III 6Gbps
I would like to have the drives in RAID 0 but only 2 of the 6Gbps ports are bootable
I could use the 3Gbps ports but that's kind of a wast of the SSD's speed and it
only leaves me 2 ports for storage drives. I have 8 WD 6Gbps for storage.
I guess my question is would a LSI MegaRAID SATA/SAS 9260-4i 6Gb/s PCI-Express 2.0
card work with this Mother Board ? I have read lots of horror stories about SATA expansion cards.

It all depends on what VGA solution you are using.

Hi HiVizMan

I'm not sure I under stand your question.
But if I get your drift , I'm not using one just yet.
If your referring to the 2 GeForce GTX 560 I'm still a little flexible.
I would give up the second GPU for the RAID speed.

If you want to go 4-way then I would say a stand alone card is your best bet. The onboard isn't going to be as high performance as a good stand alone anyway. I don't know if anyone has tried that card or not. My advice would be to contact the merchant before hand to ensure there won't be a restocking fee if it isn't compatible.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station…

xeromist I might just go that rough but , I would like to see where this could take me.

Hi mate sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

My reply was a little cryptic but unintentionally so. Basically if you are using dual cards there have been issues with the PCI-e raid cards being picked up correctly. That was what I meant.

I assume you are good to go now and if not post back here and we will work you through things.
