Achieved 4.5 OC

This morning I OCed my rig to 4.5.I didn't get much time to test much but I did run 3dmark 11 and temps didn't go over 62c.
I have the CPU voltage at 1.256.
I think I'll be able to get at least a. 4.7 .....eventually. I plan to get a new cooler master HAF X full tower and a swiftek h220 when its available for the CPU and MVF.Or maybe one of those bigger 3 fan units with the cool neon green water. The MVF doesn't fit in my NZXT M-59 too well and cable management didn't go too well.

What was your ambient/room temp?

62C is kinda high... if you would have used something which is stressing the CPU more, then perhaps you would have higher temps too (please, don't get me wrong, I'M NOT SUGGESTING to use those stress-test - just others are comparing temps using those)

Be sure that you have very good airflow in your case!

Room temp is 70F.
I see your point about those other tests. I may try that Intel one after I get the new case set up. Maybe I didn't get a good clocker. Idle temps are around. 28c....

70F is about 21C... then your delta is 7C at idle... - not too bad... but with that cooler you should be able to get better...

I have the HAF X and after a lot of experimentation I found the best for my rig was intake at the top and reverse the side fan as exhaust...removing the dust grille. Intake front and exhaust rear....I also removed the hot-swap bays etc. in the front leaving only the dust filters and stood a 120 mm fan behind them as intake on top of the drive bays....

Yeah, that seems very similar with my last setup in a regular case... worth mentioning though that it was with a H100 on the top of the case...

Is cinebench a good utility to use to get temps. I saw the Asus tech Guy using it on newegg TV to get on the fly temps while overclocking.
I lowered the cpu voltage to 1.225----cpuz reports1.232

I just ran cinebench to get some temp readings. (nice tool by the way) I used core temp to get the following:
Core0 min- 22c max- 59c
core1 min- 25c max- 64c
core2 min- 28c max- 62c
core3 min- 27c max- 59c
I ran the cpu test twice. All max readings were 100% load..benchmark score was 9.10pts

Well, sounds ok but Cinebench is not the heaviest program on your CPU...Prime95 or IBT etc. will stress your CPU more intensively. But as Zka17 said it's not the law to run them.....You're good enough....especially on air....

Hi fbm, what is your setup for 4.5G?
Is it manual Voltage or offset? Also what is your setup into DIGI, LLC etc.
If you have a similar chip like mine, you can go down in Vcore as 1.168 - 1.176 with offset, so your CPU will step down in idle.
