I'm at a total loss on this one. I've had this motherboard for a few months now, and recently upgraded from a A6-6400K to an A10-6800K on it. Since the upgrade, the board has only shown half of the installed ram available, even though all four sticks are detected. With the 6400K installed, everything was detected and operated at full capacity. Here's what the BIOS screen looks like now:
Note that all 4 GB is detected, but only 2 GB is available. These are perfectly matched sticks from the same package, they pass MEMtest86+ and everything else, and they work just fine anywhere but apparently with this CPU.
The other night, I put all of the RAM onto a brand-new A88X-PRO, with the same CPU, and got the same result. So it's not a motherboard fault.
Anyone got any ideas? I can't figure out why a 6400K could handle this setup but a supposedly superior 6800K cannot.
