I have both 0906 and 0801 (dual bios on Asus Maximus IX Apes) , And on both of them XMP fails for me.. why it happens?

I have 7700K CPU with good cooling and 4266 Mhz DDR4.

Hi metal.snake

Ultra high speed ram is not plug and play, you'll likely need to tune the cpu system agent and cpu vccio voltages to get it stable.

You can try setting it manually instead of using XMP.

Dram voltage 1.40v
CPU System Agent Voltage 1.20v - 1.30v
CPU VCCIO voltage 1.20v - 1.25v

If this doesn't get you going try Maximus Tweak Mode 2 at the top of the Dram Timing Control page.

Maximus Tweak Mode 2 did the magic. It's working now, 5Ghz CPU with 4266 Mhz DRAM. Thanks a lot Nate! You're the Man!
