Hi Guys hope all is well.

I do sincerely apologies for a question that may of been asked so many times before. if there is a solution that someone is familiar with, can you please point me in the right direction please. It may be something i am totally missing but my ram at 2133mhz (f3-2133c9d-16gxh) gskill RIPJAWS X, only seems to be running at 1333 in the bios on the sabertooth x79. I have an intel 3930k with 32gb ram (f3-2133c9d-16gxh) and a gigbyte gtx 680oc 2gb video card Patriot SE 240gb hdrive. Can someone please help with getting my ram to work at its correct speed please. All ram is in the correct dimm slots as to ASUS specifications ( sabertooth x79 motherboard). Im i doing something wrong for the ram not be be running at 2133mhz? I didnt do anything but plug it in to be honest and hoped it would work at the rated speed. The motherboard has been updated to the latest bios 4608
Your professional advice is sincerely appreciate please.
PS if i am missing any information i have not posted please let me know.
thank you in advance.

Also wanted to add ram details.
F3-2133C9D-16GXH)

That frequency is the default settings for any RAM you install on the board...you have to set the RAM up to work at its rated frequency...usually the simplest way is to use the XMP profile

Hope that helps 🙂

Yeah... what he said use the XMP setting

thanks so much guys for the replies. it is very much appreciate. When you say use xmp settings.

when i boot into the BIOS on the sabertooth x79 the open GUI interface above the normal and perfoamce auto tune selections, there is a setting /drop down under XMP that has profile 1 and profile 2. (currently XMP has a selection of disabled on it) Do i just select one of the profiles? or do i download a profile? thank you in advance.

I will read the link suggested above first. I tried to go down the path of oc but i didnt understand it to well and didnt want to damage anything. I shall read the link and ask some more question if i may please to make sure i am doing the correct thing.

I dont want to oc the ram, i would be very happy with it being at 2133.

Set auto tune to manual and XMP should be come available.

Yes see the guide it's a good visual help....but basically you select Ai Overclock Tuner select XMP...and just select the 2133 profile that drops down...save and exit. Setting the 2133 profile is technically overclocking since the standard is the 1333 or 1600 the board sets at default..

thanks a millions guys. Once i get home i will try that right away and let you know how it goes. It is a excellent guide Arne Saknussemm. Really helps to see things sometimes when you have no idea. My interface looks different to the guide but i do remember seeing the same/similar options there.
A big thanks also to meankeys for assistnace. I will look for the selection option from auto to manual, and then check to see if the XMP options becomes available for the different profiles. The rig just doesnt feel as crisp to use as others with similar setups.

Yeah, you will have the same options...once it's in front of you it's easy....download CPUz and use that to confirm you are running ok...open "memory" tab and you should see the speed (CPUz shows half value for speed since it's Double Data Rate) and primary timings...
