z97-a overclocked cpu installed new graphics card no signal PLEASE HELP!

Hello! I've been trying to figure out this problem for hours now basically pulling my hair out in frustration. Because i think i screwed up big time. So the story goes like this. Bought a new gtx 1080 ti removed my previous gtx 1080 inserted it plugged everything in no signal not even my mouse or keyboard had lights on everything else was running graphics card cpu fan all that PSU is fine then removed my graphics card and inserted the old one, same results no signal most of the time its just a semi black screen. I'm using a z97-a motherboard with asus rog swift PG278Q monitor. Any advice??? I'm completely clueless what to do next? I have no intergrated graphics or anyhing like that. I'm guessing its the bios? Because i might of overclocked certain things. My issue is similar to this guy https://forums.evga.com/m/tm.aspx?m=2532881&p=4 i'm thinking buying a new motherboard as i'm running out of ideas!

Hi Henry115

Welcome to the ROG forum.

The GTX 1080 has one 8-pin pcie power connector, the 1080 Ti has one 6-pin and one 8-pin. Have you connected both pcie power cables ?

Try clearing the cmos and try different monitor cables.

Double check all power connections.

You should have integrated graphics, remove the 1080 Ti and try connecting the iGPU with a displayport cable.

I've tried everything including clearing the cmos no results, i have connected every pcie connectors and still no diffierent. It must be because i tinkered with the motherboards bios and overclocking and all that. I tried the intergrated grapbics no signal aswell. I even removed the cmos battery for hours and then put it back still no results i'm thinking of buying a new motherboard because i screwed up. I have a second unused pc so i plugged the card in there at it worked! So now i'm currently using that. My z97-a is done for. Thanks for the help though

All right

It could be the motherboard I suppose but could also be your cpu too.

I'd test the cpu too if you can just to be sure.
