Hi all,

New to OC. Not to PC's.

Before I posted, I read this:

http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?53306-DDR4-3000-Setup-Guide-For-Rampage-V-Extreme

But the BIOS and screenies look older then what I got. My board is 6 days young!

I am having major ballache getting the RAM to be seen at any speeds higher then 2133

Specs are as follows (everything is fully patched, updated, latest versions etc..):-

i7 5820K
32GB (2x16GB kits) Ripjaws 4 (part number - F4-3000C15-4GRR)
Asus X99-S
3 x SSD, 2 X traditional HDD
1 x GTX960 (Asus Strix Edition)
1 x Coolermaster 850V 80 Plus Gold
1 x Noctua NH-D15

(less of a gamer, wanted VM grunt mainly with this setup)

Any combination of settings using manual,XMP (had to fiddle the little switch on the mobo to get this enabled) etc invariable result in a "MEMtest OK" reset or a CMOS reset.

The best I've managed so far, is running the 5 Way optimisation pass using the AI suite 3, CPU increased 46% (and got damn noisey) - I saw the RAM running at 2399!
Which is great, but do I really have to ramp up the CPU so high to see any increase in RAM speed?

Any advice welcome,

thanks,
Woe

Hello

Also have a read of the info linked below. Have you tested with a single set of memory?
