X99 Deluxe 2 - Wrong PCI-E speed

Hi all,

Yesterday I installed a X99 Deluxe 2 with a 6800K and a Strix 1080 Gaming.

Where I'm confused is around the PCI-E speed, GPU-Z keeps on reporting that my 1080 is running in PCI-E 2.0 speeds where it should be PCI-E 3.0.
I checked the bios and forced GEN3 for the first slot but even then it still reports the wrong speed.

Basic config info:
Asus deluxe II x99
6800K @ 4.0
Asus Strix 1080 Gaming in slot PCI-E 1
Corsair ax1200i
Intel NVME 400GB in slot PCI-E 2
Asus Thunderboldex 3 in slot PCI-E 5

Does anyone know how to force my cards in the right PCI-E speed?

Thanks,

Sorted, don't blindly follow the manual, the thunderbolt card should go in PCI-E 2 and the NVME in PCI-E 3, now everything is working and using full bandwidth.
