X79 Sabertooth SSD RAID 0 RST vs RSTe

Hello people,

I have windows 7 installed on 2 SSD's in RAID 0 and wanted to know if switching from RST to RSTe would enable TRIM under RAID 0. Will I get better performance if I used RST instead of the enterprise version? I've tried uninstalling the drivers, changed to RST in BIOS but get BSOD after loading screen. Is it still possible to make the switch without having to re-install the OS from scratch?

Thanks.

From my understanding the real "Enterprise Edition" RSTe drivers contain an additional SCSI filter driver as well, but are just designed for X79 chipsets. I'm interested in the fact you changed to RST in the BIOS? Please explain what you mean here.

When you installed Windows, you would have pressed F6 during installation to load the RAID drivers - which RAID drivers did you use, RST or RSTe? I feel this would answer your question.

I must be doing something wrong/right I never have any of these issues when installing a RAID system. I do not even use F6 for drivers. I just do the install using my OS and all just works. Thanks for the link Pete

I believe Win 8 & 8.1 include basic Intel RST drivers on the install DVD making it unnecessary to do the F6 Driver install during setup.
