X79 sabertooth RAM specs??

I have bought an X79 mobo, but now Im confused over whether I have made a mistake

There seems to be a discrepency as on the asus website the specifications for the board list upto 1866Mhz memory support.

Checking the QVL list from the asus site and I can see the RAM I have bought is supported
G.Skill F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH 16GB ( 4x 4GB ) DS - - 9-11-10-28 1.65 ● ● ● ●

It states that it is supported across all 8 slots which seems strange as it is a 4 slot kit??
I have bought 2 of these kits for a total of 32Gb RAM and Im worried that it won't work now and Im wondering whether I need to change mobo's

Can anyone confirm if I can run 32Gb of 2133Mhz RAM in a sabertooth board as the spec list says no, but the QVL PDF says I can run at least 16Gb

I suspect they are saying that the ram will work in any of the 8 slots.

The board has 8 x DIMM for a Max of 64GB - you should not have too much of a problem getting your 8 sticks (32GB) of ram running at their XMP profile. The 2133MHz is over clocked as you know and enabling the XMP profile should do the job for you.

Feel free to ask if you get stuck.

Why Thank You 😮

Cant wait to do my build, my first ever Intel build, my first Asus mobo and the first time I have ever gone enthusiast.
All I need is a C2 stepping of the 3930K and Im good to go...
Looking forward to seeing how high I can clock the CPU

Make sure you have suitable cooling for your CPU it is not the most 'chilled out' of CPU's.

Do you know who will be having C2 stock in the UK as yet? Think they are still trying to flog off the C1 stock they currently hold.

No, I think there is a massive hunt on for the first UK stockist

As far as I know, the only place selling C2 stepping is currently online German retailers

That is all the info I have found so far - at least they are out, so hopefully it shouldn't be too long - I hope..

I am running 8 sticks of 1866 on mine. The QVL says it only supported up to 4 DIMM but I have no POST or BOSD when I let the BOIS autoclock it for me. I am running @ 4570MHz on the 3930k and only see about 44'c when I am gaming.
