X6 T1100 and Crosshair formula V O.C issues.

Hi, i`v been following this forum for a while, since i bought my first ROG item (Corsshair formula V), and you guys are the best.

Now to my "problem"...
It looks to me that i can`t get my CPU to clock stable over 3.7Ghz, i`v followd the O.C info i found here, and i managed to O.C my Ram too 1800 and CPU too 3.7 Ghz and everything is fine, even worked brilliant whit stock cooler, but i just bought a new
cooler becouse the stock sounded like i had a wind tunel in my living room.

Will list my Hardware here.

AMD X6 Phenom T1100 Black Edition
Asus Nvidia GTX 560 TI
Asus ROG Crosshair Formula V
Zalman CNPS11X Extreme Cooler
Corsair XMS3 1866MHz 8GB Vengeance CL9
Windows 7 64 Bit
Silver Power PSU 750W
NZXT Phantom
Corsair 80 Gb SSD

Now, installed the cooler yesterday morning, had it idle over night (26c)
and did some BF3 gaming, whit the max temp @ 49c under load.
After i set it too 3.7Ghz, CPU temp is 37c (whit chassi fans set too low, can shave of 3 too 5c whit those)

But, i whould love to have a stable 4.0 \ 4.2 Ghz O.C.
So far i had no luck, tried the Auto O.C function but that`s no help what so ever, when i set my mem to 1866 or 2000, i get
BSOD to no avail.

Anyone who got experience whit this setup who can lend a helping text based hand?

Hi, how many sticks of ram do you have.
I had a 1100 T on the crosshair board running at 4GHz but I was running 1333 Corsair dom.
My settings were,
cpu bus-242
Cpu V- 1.475
Dram V- 1.61875
Spread spectrum- Off.
Not sure what your ram voltage should be I would set it by what's on your chip.
Also what does it say when it Bsod's 2nd or 3rd line down on the left of the screen?
This will give you a clue to why it's not working.

Fx-8150, 4.5GHz, 1.34v. H70 Cooling, Corsair Dom 2 X 4Gig 1866MHz 9-10-9-27-2T-1.5V, Crosshair V, Hx850 PSU, XFX B.E. 7970 DD, 3 X 23 Led's, 2 X 1Tb Blacks, 2 X 2Tb Greens, 5Tb NAS Cloud, Logitech Mx Mouse, Logitech 7.1 surround,
Life is what you make it.

You might find you have to sacrifice some ram speed for the core frequency.

What I do is first clock my core to the maximum stable frequency on what ever cooling I am using. Write down my settings or save them in BIOS as a OC profile.
Then F5 to reset defaults and begin to clock my RAM.
Once I have found my maximum ram I then compare the two settings - core frequency and ram overclocks.

Most of the time with a Bulldozer CPU you get pretty close to the maximum of your RAM clocks. With the 1100T I did not have as much success with the ram on that CPU. I nearly always have to dial back my ram to get my max CPU overclock
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

I'm running at 4020 stable on mine.

1.38v
Multi at 17.5
Bus speed at 229.8
Ram is running at 919.1 (1838.2) 9-11-9-28

My Ram is rated at 2133 and with the Phenom, I have never been able to get near it.

i use the suggest course too O.C Ram from here, and since my CPU also sets clock based on my ram speeds.
it`s the easy way of doing it so i wont have to fiddle around so much whit stuff i don`t know much about 😛

the menues in BIOS, is changed so when i got it O.Cd as i do now, i cant change the bus speed or the CPU level (I.E 16.5 17.0 etc)

i reccon i ignore the RAM clock, imo 1600 should do fine, and then use other menues to manual O.C the CPU, but some more hints about what i should read up on might be handy.

i see its easy to use BUS speeds or just level up the cores. but im afraid too messa bout whit the volt on the CPU and dont quite know the parametres for it once O.Cing.

my bus speed now is 225 and level is 16.5 giving a 3.72 O.C, that is stable as all hell 😄

What is the VID of your 1100T?

I`m not 100% sure what VID is >< google searches resulted in something about start up vold on CPU, orr the stock volt.

whould love some more info what you wanted too know.

currently i got 1.37500 on CPU.

You can get your VID from Core Temp. It seems to me that higher VID require higher voltages for higher frequencies.
I'm at 1.45V to get my 1100T stable at 4.0ghz ...my VID is 1.35v.
A friend has a build where 1.4v is required to run his 11ooT at 3.6ghz stable ...his VID is 1.375v (this one is still being tested).

Finding your VID might help to find a good place to start from.

damn, i was afraid i had too much about whit the volt, killed a semphron "learnning" it.

But assumed as much. well thanks. i`m gona look it up and try it later on 😄

oh, chould i get a clear definition of what VID is, so im sure not too mess it up 😛

VID is the voltage identification digital
