Yes, yes and YES!

The GTX 285 is quite an outdated card and even running in SLi mode you are being very restricted. The GTX 680 Ti on the other hand, is a beast of a video card and even one would be a HUGE performance boost (as long as the rest of your system isn't bottle-necking that GPU).

Edit: Just noticed your PC Specs in your signature and I have a similar setup with a card much worse than the 680 and it still eats games I throw at it!

I don't think so.

Yeah, I edited my original post after I seen your specs at the bottom of your signature... you should have no problem with your rig and see amazing increases in performance if you upgraded your GPU

And don't forget that the old video cards consume massive amount of power. If i'm not mistaking 210 watt per 285 so 400 watt in sli. The 680 gtx uses ~200 watt

I also about to upgrade to a new video card ( ATI 7970 3GB ASUS Overclocked PCIe Video Card PN HD7970-DC2T-3GD5),
How well does a PCI Express 3 card run on a PCI 2 MotherBoard ?
Would i get better performance from a PCI 2 card ?
