Windows restart issues Maximus VI Formula

I have never been able to have restart work, whether manually or when windows is updating and restarts itself. The fans continue to run and the mb is still lit, but nothing happens. I have to shutdown my pc from the case power button. I have an I7 4970K and when i use the power button there is no problem booting up. If windows was in the process of updating it picks up where it left off. This is just annoying as I run my media server off of this pc and if windows forces an update then I have to go and manually restart machine, not always in the same state as my desktop so I have been without my media server at times. I use win10 pro upgraded from win7pro. This has been a problem since day one.

Just checking - is this still an issue for you?

To confirm, did it happen under Windows 7 and Windows 10, or only after installing Windows 10?
