Just a question i want to know i dont really wont to put new paste on a cpu then have to pull out again, the test would only last 10 seconds at the most not enough for the CPU to cook.

It will stay on long enough for you to see the splash screen, at least. Thermal throttling will already be kicking in for the CPU at this point though, so don't expect it to boot into Windows. 🙂 This is certainly something which you should avoid doing, if possible.

(If you must test for proper POSTing/installation of core components before mounting the cooler, then I would at the very least suggest holding a copper or aluminium heatsink against the CPU manually while doing so. This way, your CPU won't be cremating itself as soon as the power is turned on, and you will certainly have enough time to access the UEFI menu before the heat builds up to any significant levels.)

You want to run your CPU without a cooler?

Don't - just use the same cooler and the same paste if you want to do a test.

Or no paste and a cooler for a test.

BUT USE A COOLER. 🙂

Thanks well my board doesn't even turn on any more that why i didn't want to reinstall the cooler if the board still worked like it should it should still power on correct so I'm sure some think has died on it.
