Hello to all!I have recently purchased a crosshair V-z and the memory i have selected is the kingston hyperx beast 2400 Mhz 16 gig memory kit.I know the whole amd should go with G skill or corsair but i thought i would give it a go just the same.P.S. I should have my mobo this week and i ordered it on the 5th,Was or is there a recall on the MoBo?Or is it just the fact that they flew off the shelves at such a rate that they are manufacturing more as i type.Anywho,Any comments are much appricated.

Yeah, Amazon was also out of stock when I built my rig at the start if Feb... I ordered everything from Amazon except for the mobo, which I ordered from Newegg.. I think it was actually, like, $20 cheaper from "The Egg" than from Amazon. So it was kind of a win-win. 🙂 if it's still available from Newegg and you can still cancel your order from Amazon, then you might consider doing that... When I ordered, newegg also had free 3 day shipping, so it only arrived one day after the stuff from Amazon.

Just my two cents, though...
Good luck with your build.

I am going to keep an eye on this tread and see how it goes. I have the same kit of ram and system avaialbe to test if needed but it seems you guys have it covered. Just bare in mind that the CPU determines how well your ram can and does run. And that no two CPU's will behave the same. Or sadly perform the same.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

Thanks HiVizman,

I have been playing for about 2 weeks now with the Bios trying to get the 2400MHZ stable sweet spot, I thought I had it with 8GB only but after 24hrs it went back to not recognizing the monitor on boot. I am going to spend all day tomorrow test this so I will keep you posted on how I fair.

Need to get all 16gb working 😉

Cheers

I have the same setup too! (Well, almost, 2x8GB 2,133MHz) and I can't get it to run above 1,333... 😞 It's my first build, so maybe I'm doing something wrong? I tried to run at 1600 and 1866, but I get a BSOD saying something about memory after a short amount of time gaming or watching youtube videos... 😕 Any guide out there for first-timers on how to even set memory above 1333MHz on the CVFZ???
I'm currently out of town, but I'll jot down any advice and try it out once I get home. 🙂

You can find a small guide in my signature for setting up your RAM to run at its advertised speed. I might have used a different platform but the concepts are the same. You'll just have to find the equivalent options in your BIOS. 😉

Note: On an AMD system, it's called D.O.C.P which is equivalent to X.M.P. 😛

THANKS CHINO!
I'll remember that for when I get back home. 🙂

Hello, first time posting. Looking for some help on OC. I have a Sabertooth X79, 3970K, and Kingstone Hyper X Beast , 2400mhz. Are there any settings I can use to get up to 2400mhz? Sometimes it works, but when the system goes into sleep, the memory red LED light stays on and I have to reboot. Any suggestion would be great. The settings for memory is: 11-13-13-30 and the CPU is OC at 4.5mhz and runs between 60c and 75c.
Thanks in advance for any help.
