Wifi driver issue?? or faulty board

Hi wonder if you can help please..
the other day my wifi stops working on my rog maximus extreme 6 mb. there was a yellow triangle in the device manager saying it wasnt working properly so i deleted it from there but everytime my pc detected it when trying to install it my pc kept freezin and crashing. so i decided anyways to do a fresh install of windows 8 and give my pc a cleanup but i still have a problem
first started with installing windows 8.1 again from original disc kept freezing on install at getting devices ready and wouldnt install just had to keep turning pc off and trying again.... finally worked out after a little bit of googling to turn off wifi bluetooth and lan drivers in bios which worked and installed no problem after that..
i turned them back on in bios after not sure if that was right but it hasnt given me any troubles yet

but now as i try to install the wifi drivers from eith the mobo disc or latest driver from asus it begins to install then the cmd box opens but it just freezes my pc and i have to manually power it off i cant install the drivers and use the wireless feature on my mobo.. is it something i have or havent done??? or is my mobo faulty??

hope i have explained ok as im a proper noob!! when it comes to pcs!!

Your description of the problem is extensive - wish more went into that detail as clearly. That's also an awesome rig.

One piece of info missing is the version of BIOS. Older versions don't work with Devil's Canyon 4790K, so it's most likely yours is up to date. What method did you use to update?

Since working features quit suddenly, then caused trouble with the fundamental process of installing known good drivers, you have to face the probability that the mPCIe Combo has failed. Is there any chance the device came loose from its tiny little socket? It would be worth pulling and re-seating it. Did you add any PCIe components? I don't remember whether the mPCIe shares PCIe2 lanes with any of the other sockets on the M6E, but it's worth a check.

If none of those improve the situation, you may be down to RMA and repair of the board -- replacing the mPCIE Combo at least. You would have to check with ASUS tech support about your options.

thanks for your reply Jeff i am quite a noob when it comes to pc`s and what you just said went straight over my head lol.. im ok with basics thats about it!! not sure what my bios version is but i had pc made for me and i havent changed bios or any setting in bios.. i will have a look and see if anything has come loose if not i will make a call to the tech support where i had pc made i was hoping i would be able to rectify my self as i like to learn and if you get others to do it 4 you then you never get better knowledge. just weird how it worked the night before but next day i had this issue. i hadnt added any bits or messed with anything either so your probably right i have a fault and rma may be only thing i can do.. thought that someone else may have had same issue and managed to fix ;(
again thanks for taking time out reading my post i didnt know if it made sense lol i tried to explain the best i could lol
