Hello all,
I agree with this post.... It has been a year since they updated the BIOS.
On another note... I am trying to find a stable overclock with a 4930k.
I am having hell with this. I am new to overclocking but I have read and educated myself a good bit thus far.
So far...
I am at 4.5ghz at 1.41v, XMP memory overclocked to 2133 at 10 11 11 30 2 timings. I am seeing idle temps around 39c - 42c and after an hour of prime95 I am seeing a max of 74c.
I am monitoring temps using RealTempGT and HWMonitor.
However, I get blue screens when I run Cinebench, Intel burn test, or the CPU test in 3D Mark Vantage. The temps before I see the blue screen are around 68c-74c.
I want to eliminate the blue screens....
So... Is my vcore too high? If not... How high can I go?
Is the BSOD from low vcore?
Please help!!!!
Thanks,
Layne

My biggest beef is with the fact that ASUS ended on BIOS Beta Version 0801. They didn't even give us a finished BIOS. At this point, I would be happy if they just reissued 0801 beta as 0900 final. There is a glimmer of hope for a little attention as Win10 rolls out (Win10 sections have already been added to the downloads section. With any luck there will be something in the BIOS and/or utilities&drivers to require some editing that might then trigger some code/bug review and updating. I currently have my system in dual boot mode with Win7 Ultimate 64bit & Win10 preview. As you all can see from my signature, I have a lot of money invested in this system and I too am very disappointed with the sudden stoppage of support.
By the way, I am getting ~52GB/s memory throughput as reported by SiSoft Sandra. I can get the memory to run at its stock timing of 2400MHz 10-10-12-31 2T but throughput drops to only ~22GB/s. When experimenting with memory tweaking it is important to measure the throughput because timings that seem intuitively faster may not be so at all. I am still trying to get the memory to run at 2400MHz with proper throughput. If I am successful, It should reach ~58GB/s.
