Q: Which SATA driver should I download from this list? (Windows 7 64bit)

Maximus IV Extreme board

I am having a difficult time trying to find the latest updates for an upcoming reinstall of my windows 7 64bit OS.

Q: How am I supposed to know what driver to download from the SATA section?!?

The latest one, by date, seem to be a small one, however the previous one seem to be really large (200+ MB).

The numbered versions are just confusing.


Asus, this is making me upset and this is terrible.

Please help me somebody. 😛

I corrected my initial post, to reflect that I wanted to ask about the SATA drivers and not the LAN drivers.

I need help for determining what SATA driver from the top four I am supposed to use. 😛

(251.86 MB) Versjon 10.5.0.1026 - 2011/06/01 -Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver Software V10.5.0.1026 for Windows XP 32bit & 64bit.

(250.78 MB) Versjon 10.0.0.1046 - 2011/03/17 - Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver software V10.0.0.1046 for Windows 32/64bit XP & 32/64bit Vista & 32/64bit 7.(WHQL)

(250.33 MB) Versjon 10.1.0.1008 - 2011/03/17 - Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver software V10.1.0.1008 for Windows 32/64bit XP & 32/64bit Vista & 32/64bit 7.(WHQL)

If you are not running your disks in a Raid Array you do not need to install the Rapid Storage Tech driver.
Install the Intel chipset utility and MEI driver, if you need to install RST, install the latest version of Rapid Storage Technology not Rapid Start Technology.
