Weird readings in CPU-Z ROG Edition

Hey guys,

So I got my system up and running with an 8120 today and I'm in windows now.

However I'm getting really odd readings with CPU-Z.

Also they seem to flicker all over the place. They will go higher, to their normal settings then back down and all that stuff.

Is it faulty software or did I miss something in the BIOS?

What is flickering?

Also, you should be using the latest version of CPU-Z (1.58).

Hey there,

I downloaded the newest Edition of RoG CPU Z and nothing really is fixed.

My CPU name is AMD FX-8130P


And what is flickering is the Core Speed and Multiplier.


I'm still getting the same readings on my RAM as shown up in that screenshot.


In the BIOS the are reading correctly as AMD FX 8120 @ 3.1 Ghz and my Ram is as 1333.

my aisuite II would not install untill i got all the windows 7 updates,it seems to be important for CH5 and fx cpu

Hmmmm yeah I haven't even run Windows update yet, I guess I should try that and then see what happens

somewhere on ROG forum last night i read that the fx cpu frequency will jump up and down on its own as needed not 100% sure on that one. maybe its in your power saving mode in bios the cpu will dance around when its in power saver mode

Yes.the 8150 jumps like that too.never steady.I guess thats just the way it is...

It's been on AMD CPUs for a few generations now. Nothing new there. Also, Turbo Core as well which was implemented last generation.

As for the information not reading correctly, it's because the ROG CPU-Z version is based on CPU-Z 1.58 which does not have support for Bulldozer CPUs. If you want proper readings, go to www.cpuid.com and get the Bulldozer Reviewer Kit from the main page. It has a newer version of CPU-Z which does report Bulldozer CPUs properly.

Also, if you want to see your current memory settings, you should go to the Memory tab, not SPD.
