Weird problems with my motherboard, Maximus IV Extreme-Z

Hello world, and fellow Asus owners:

This is my first post, but definatly not my first time I this forum.

So, long story short my mobo is going to be RMA'd. I was wondering though, what if it doesn't fix the problem. This is what I asked Asus tech support, and the only answer I got was that an RMA was made for me:

"I have a few issues, and I think I have isolated it to be the motherboard. I have tried 3
different power supplies, 2 different video cards, and re-installed the OS about 5
times. I also swapped out memory modules.

1. I have a very distinctive "hiss" sound come out of my speakers. Also, wjenever there
is HDD and mouse activity, the speakers chirp. For speakers, Im using an audio
interface (USB sound card), plugged into USB. I have tried different speakers and
audio interfaces with no success. Have there been any reports of this?

2. When I use the auto overclock software, my PC reboots (i know its normal) however,
upon reboot, the system does not load up, and just sits at a black screen, for ever until I
reset the computer. I am running all latest fireware for all devices. I did mention that I
dont have revision 3.0. Im away from my motherboard so I cant check, but I have
looked before and noticed that. Would that affect my system?"

Has anyone heard of these issues?

Thanks everyone, and have a nice day!

Hey Matt

The hiss or buzz sound could be a PSU as you thought but 3 with the same thing? Not likely, it could also be some kind of earthing going on, most of the time that tends to happen with the cables to the front panel being nicked or cut, best thing to do is check your case. Easy test for that is to remove the motherboard from the case and stick it on a box. Only have the bare minimum connected and of course your speakers or headphones.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

That's a good idea. I'll give that a try and report back. I was thinking it could be a grounding issue, between my case and other parts.
