Issue

Hello, My computer had no issues until 3/27/16 I had a BSOD while watching a vlc video. BlueScreenView photo attatched: http://i.imgur.com/1xl1las.jpg
Ever since then im experiencing low FPS performance on my comp.
Sometimes when browsing or watching videos I would have some graphical lag (mouse cursor would move slowly when trying to move it) there is also a graphical lag when dragging files
Opening photoshop task bar buttons would lag horribly and dragging photos would also lag.
I noticed the games I played the fps counter was lower than usual and I would micro stutter.
On CSGO FPS was fluctuating 40-100, normally it would be a stable 200+ FPS.
On CSNZ, I experienced some micro stuttering, my FPS counter was all over the place 20-60 FPS (normally always at 60 cause vsync).
BF4 had very bad micro stuttering, the video icon thing to the right edge (attached video) kept blinking orange and red and sometimes when I AFK for ~3mins the game would freeze (0 FPS) into a black screen.
I also heard my GPU fans ramp down when It froze. Normally BF4 ran a solid 90 -100+ fps.
On benchmarks I noticed Unigine valley FPS was lower than usual and sometime the rain scenes got me down to 10 FPS. Unigine heaven also has a similar low fps then usual.
Also, in the benchmarks and games v-sync is disabled (except CSNZ).

I decided to RMA my GPU on 4/2/16 thinking it was bad and EVGA support thought so too, but when the replacement (same model card different serial) came the same thing is happening.
I put the GPU in the PCIe 8x slot thinking it was a bad PCIe 16x slot, nope, same thing.
I have memtest the memory stick by stick with a couple of passes already and they all passed.
I checked if my drives were bad using crystal disk info but they are all running normally.
The weird thing is if i restart my pc again and launch my games back immediately the fps is normal and graphical issues disappear until using the comp ~30mins later the same issue comes back.
I haven't messed with BIOS yet.

My GPU temps are ok it's always ~34C on idle, temps can go up to 60C-70C when gaming or benchmarking.
CPU temps are good 36-38C idle. Ambient 75F.

I'm thinking it may be the board but I'm not sure whats going on.

Game vids on my stuttering/low fps:
CSGO https://youtu.be/E-WBFzQ4zN0
BF4 https://youtu.be/PRGodOuyVs4
BF4 (when I recently built my pc back in 2013): https://youtu.be/dUeYqMKnNKs (FPS normally should be this)

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Use DDU to uninstall Nvidia driver and reinstall 361.91 or 362.00 driver...

or....maybe use restore point to roll back computer to pre problems state?

Don't install latest drivers they are causing loads of problems...

If all else fails maybe backup files and clean install OS

I always use DDU to uninstall driver, Right now I'm using 362.00. I was running 344.75 all the way until 3/27/16 when I found out I had this problem so I thought it was a bad driver. At the same time, I heard nvidia drivers having issues and installed 362.00 cause some users say this was the most stable driver. Ill try 362.00 again if not then I'll try 361.91, if that doesn't work maybe finding my old driver 344.75.

That's a possibility I might use an restore point but there's not a restore point before 3/27... lots of DDU system restored points after 3/27 though.

Yea, I might need to reinstall windows 7 if all of this doesn't work.

If all fails, I might need to talk to EVGA again...

Rexton, are you using the Nvidia Gforce experience with shadow play enabled. I had that installed with shadowplay enabled and all i got was problems with blue screens and game crashes so after a process of elimination i got rid of nvidia shadowplay and g force experience from my computer and it runs fine now with no problems.Just a thought.

I did not install Geforce experience with shadowplay, I use Fraps to record my games. Fraps or no fraps still stuttering/lagging.

Hey guys,

Just an update I have tried almost all of nvidia drivers including the latest one and the same issue is happening.

I have ordered another ssd and currently waiting for it to come. Hopefully fresh installing windows 7 or 10 will work out on my games.

[SOLVED] Story...

My new SSD arrived and I reinstalled windows. Loaded up my games and the issues were gone! So this has ruled out to be a software issue.

I was thinking it's software corruption or virus/malware on my old ssd that's affecting my fps in games and my applications like photoshop.

So I loaded up malwarebytes and i had 15 threats detected... removed them and rebooted. I scanned it again making sure my pc was clean and it says 12 threats detected.

The malware/virus kept on popping up every time it was removed via malwarebytes.

Installed Hitman Pro here's the log:

As you can see... some malware made a duplicate of dwm.exe and windows thought it was the real dwm.exe and ran it. And that's the cause of my weird graphical issues and low fps/stuttering in games.

My pc runs fine like the day I built it. 🙂

Also, I will prob stay away from DLing sketchy sites/torrents... and if I do I will prob buy antivirus protection.

Thanks to all who helped me!
