Water cooling, CPU FAN problem

Hi,
I've just set up my EK water cooling system.
Water pump is connected to CPU_FAN, two 12x12 fans (for two radiators) are connected to CHA_FAN1 nad CHA_FAN2.
Problem is in the cooling profiles. I can control profiles of CHA_FANs by UEFI or AI SUITE II normaly. But there is no reaction on changes in CPU_FAN. Water pump always running on maximum rotates.
When I connect water pump to CHA_FAN3 profiles works fine.

Any ideas why there is no reaction on cooling profiles by CPU_FAN connection?

Crosshair V Formula-Z with FX-8150.

Thanks,
Bart

My guess would be the CPU fan header is running in PWM mode. Try changing the CPU Fan Type in Bios to DC Fan and see if you can control the speed.
As always be careful about the power you draw from those headers, CPU Fan is rated for 1A max.

My pump is EK-DCP 4.0 PWM. I will try switch to DC mode.
You're right about 1A. In pump specification there is 1.8A. What could happend in that case?
What are the CHA_FAN and CPU_OPT rated for?

Oh, the PWM model should work with CPU Fan set to PWM mode. It draws the power from the +12V molex connector and gets the speed signal from the CPU Fan header on the motherboard.
So there is no concern about drawing too much power from the mobo.
According to a recent thread in these forums the rating on the rest of the headers is even less than 1A each but since there are plenty this should be no problem 😄

You could run the pump at a constant speed that is relatively quiet off any fan header and use the rest to control chassis and radiator fans. Afaik all the CHA fans are linked to one control input + all the OPT fans.

Try plugging your water pump in CPU_OPT, and your radiator fans into CPU_FAN, also get an adapter to hook the fans together so they can both run of CPU_FAN Source: AMD factory instructions that game with 9590 CLC system.

Problem solved: I've changed the CPU Fan Type in Bios to DC Fan as elesde said. Now profiles woks fine.
I don't know why I didn't do it erlier!?!

Thanks everyone for Your advice and help!!!
