Hello guys,
I have a question here, hope you guys can help me to answer this.

1. Is it the i7-4820K compatible with R4G?
2. Is it the bios need to be updated first to run the proc with this board?, because there has no view at the monitor while all has been setup and run.

Im going with that both question first.
If anybody know what is going on, hope you can help me here.

Thanks in advanced!

Unfortunately, you need a SB-E CPU to complete the ROM to CAP conversion because part of the process involves you posting to finish the BIOS update. Return your motherboard to the shop that you bought it from and have them update the BIOS for you. It's either that or borrow a SB-E CPU from a friend.

Someone at ASUS needs to figure out a solution to this.
This is totally unacceptable that new users are buying boards and are unable to use them because ASUS has not put out a BIOS converter that supports the latest CPUs.

HiVizMan, Raja, Shamino? This is a very serious issue.

Thanks for your suggestion and reply, yes i think need to go back to the shop and asking them about this issue. Hope they can solve it.
Unlucky, no one of my friend using SB-E CPU.
I try to update to the 2nd latest .CAP bios version, also nothing happen. So can concluded that it cannot read the .CAP file.
But when run R4G.ROM, flash working. Maybe like Chino said, the flash not finish properly.
So i need to refer to the shop first then update this issue later.
thanks guys.

I have a RIVG board that is brand new never been used, it is nearly a year old now so certainly will not have the latest bios on it.

I will put it on test bench and see if I can get the IVY-E to work on the board without having to use a SB-E processor. I will post back tomorrow morning.

Right I had a spare twenty minutes and time to update you all.

I pulled the board out and stuck it on my test bench.

Placed the 4820K CPU in the socket and fitted the cooler.

Downloaded the BIOS and extracted it to the root directory of the USB stick.

Renamed it to R4G it is already in the CAP format so no need to run the cap converter. 🙂

Put the USB drive in the bottom slot next to the ROG Connect button.

Powered the system on to ensure the CPU was not picked up. Q-Code 00

Powered down.

Cleared CMOS

Left my system on standby and pressed the ROG connect button for a slow count of 3

My usb stick started to flash and do its thing.

Took about 5 - 7 minutes to finish.

First power on updated the irog

I am now sitting in BIOS

BIOS loaded, CPU picked up and working.

So let me get this straight.

The shipping BIOS was 1005. You downloaded the 4403 BIOS which is in CAP format. And you flashed it using the USB BIOS Flashback and it worked?

The bios default was the original shipping bios. 1005

Clear CMOS is the button at the back with the arrow making a circle. Do not confuse it with the ROG connect button.

No I think it means you need to do the USB flashback again as you have not done it yet. 🙂

default bios same with me.

do we need to press the cmos button, if yes for how long?

yes bro, i think is not completed. because your progress took 5 - 7 minutes.
mine, i dont think so, its only in 3 - 4 minutes then the LED ROG connect button and LED USB stick stop blinking.

so, what do you think bro with my problem?

I think that you need to redo it.

The Clear CMOS can be pressed for 3 seconds and it will be fine.

Do you have your CPU in the socket?
