Hello guys,
I have a question here, hope you guys can help me to answer this.

1. Is it the i7-4820K compatible with R4G?
2. Is it the bios need to be updated first to run the proc with this board?, because there has no view at the monitor while all has been setup and run.

Im going with that both question first.
If anybody know what is going on, hope you can help me here.

Thanks in advanced!

Ask the shop to just install the cap converter, you do it the same way as you flash the bios. EZflash2 in the tools menu of the bios. Navigate to the converter and click it.

not going to shop yet bro..
anything will update here later..

HiVizMan - you must have run the cap converter at one point, because prior to running it the boards have no idea to look for any .CAP files. They only look for .ROM

Frankly I am disgusted by no official ASUS reply to this.
There are likely hundreds of boards with a BIOS below 1404 in retail distribution channels.
It is not an acceptable solution to have to RMA a brand new board or buy a replacement BIOS chip that simply has an out of date BIOS.

What is the point of BIOS flashback if it doesn't work in this scenario? I distinctly remember ASUS advertising USB flashback working without a CPU.

How can anyone at ASUS justify this as being reasonable? I don't even have this problem and this is so entirely unacceptable it is making me rethink my decision to buy a R4BE.

The part that angers me the most about this is this could all be resolved with a freaking simple 1 minute microcode update to the cap converter.

HiVizMan - Any way you could get some higher ups to pop into this thread?

Thank you.

Problem solved.
Just went to ASUS service center and ask them for help to update the bios.
Yes, like what Chino suggest, its needed SB-E cpu to update the bios.
its not working with the usb flash bios because of the bios version is too old told by the ASUS people there.
thanks again to all of you for helping me and reply my post.
have a nice day n all the best to all of you. 🙂

Well i gotta say im glad im not the only one, my computer does exactly the same, I7 4820k, R4G and gskill ram. 1005 revision. Also boots up for a split second then just turns off and repeats. with red debug CPU light appearing.

It seems that i also going to need to take it in, again. I already did take it in and the Tech dude "supposedly" updated my bios for me but still has the error, Interestingly when i try flash back method it only accepts .rom, so i think he just did the cap convertor but didn't boot it with a Sandy bridge E processor to complete the process.

Hmm a little annoying to be honest, there really should be a way to at least boot with ivy-bridge e and still complete the converter process.
