VII Hero : How many front USB 2.0 ports can I have ?

Hi
On the product page I read 5 front ports, but I can't understand how.

There are 3 connectors on the board : USB13 (shared with ROG_EXT), USB1112, USB910.
Now USB13 allows for one USB 2.0 port, and USB1112 for two and USB910 for two as well ?

Here is what I have : 2 ports in my chassis (one wire) and a 4-port HUB (one wire) to fit into a 5.25-inch drive bay.
That means the only choice I have is to connect the chassis front ports to (say) USB1112 and have both ports functionnal, and to connect my 4-port HUB to USB910 and have only 2 functionnal ports out of 4 ?

Each header supports 2 ports. So unless you're using a ROG frontpanel you can get 6 usb 2.0 ports from the 3 headers plus the two usb 3.0 ports. Which you can use for usb 2.0 ports as well, with an adapter, if your chassis don't have any usb 3.0 ports. If your 4-port hub only have one cable coming from it, perhaps plus a power connection?, then it's probably a proper hub. Not directly connected ports.
Asus ROG G55VW:
CPU: i7 3630QM
GFX: Geforce GTX660M with 2GB ram
RAM: 2x8Gb 2133MHz Kingston HyperX Impact (surprisingly the G55VW uses the 2133 X.M.P. profile)
Storage: RAID0 with 2x 256Gb Crucial SSDs (both msata, one in a sata adapter)
OS: Windows 10 x64

No ROG frontpanel. And USB 3.0 header is used for two 3.0 ports.

The 4-port HUB is the NZXT Bunker, it has no power cable, just one cable/connector that fits into a USB 2.0 header on the motherboard.
You think there's no problem connecting it to a 2.0 header on the board, and that all 4 ports will be usable ?

Ok. The NZXT Bunker is a (1 to 4) unpowered hub. It uses 1 port on the motherboard to give you 4 ports in a 5.25" slot. Which means it's designed to do what you plan to use it for. 🙂
