I'm having an issue with this code coming up after I first boot the rig up (restarts not effected)

Before my idiot friend tried to flash the bios update (there isn't any) everything was smooth and crazy fast compared to my old build. I guess he wanted to make himself feel like he helped? She then refused to boot and would run a repeated scan disk on a loop. I managed to correct the problem and all seemed well. Now she displays this code refusing to boot (black screen) unless I hit the reset button on either the case or the board. After, it will boot into windows with no issues and I can restart through windows with no issues as if this code never came up at all.

Since the initial boot after the rig was completed (and quite a few after) had no errors so it can't be a compatibility issue as far as I know. Either way, hardware is as follows:

gpu: EVGA 02G-P4-2678-KR GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2GB

She is running stock. No overclocking but I did try removing auto for the memory in the bios and setting it to its actual stats at 1866, its timings to 10-11-10-30, and voltage to 1.5 but that didn't solve it either. It must have something to do with him trying to update the bios since that't when the problem first started. My knowledge in this area is still limited being somewhat new to this kind of thing but now I'm completely lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a FAT formatted USB stick and place the BIOS on the stick. Use the BIOS flashback method. I would suggest that you may have a slightly messed up BIOS.

I assume that you have done a couple of Clear CMOS to restore your system to factory defaults.

Used the jumper method that I'm used to. Never liked the remove the battery method for 10 minutes method so I avoided that. Haven't tried the usb + bios flashback yet. Noob moment, completely forgot about it =X. Will give that a shot as soon as I can find a spare usb stick.

Tried the USB flashback but it doesn't do anything. Figured user error at first so I watched the video yet when I do it, there is no white light nor does the status indicator light on the USB stick light up. Something is off.

Problem was I didn't realize that this method is to revert back. Not used to update (a new update was released). I loaded stock bios but no change yet. Impossible to get into the bios because the error happens at the stage just before the USB gives the keyboard juice. I suppose the only thing left is the update the bios? Clearning CMOS doesn't do anything afterall.
At this point, any other ideas would be most welcome.

Please do the bios flashback method again.

Use a older BIOS and follow the instructions in your user manual exactly. Pay attention to the led lights on the board (PCIe area near the PCH cooler)

Something odd but you will NEVER hear me complain about it. Just after I made my last post I just flashed in the bios update, booted into the bios and made necessary adjustments and checks. Bios was very strange though. Screen was all messed up and only managed to navigate it by memory alone. Pixelated to hell. Couldn't keep my eyes open so I just turned her off. Now I turned her on to check for a possible reply here and the problem is gone. She booted up just fine.

I had read about this status code and while it is titled "memory initialization" someone posted somewhere that there was a compatibility issue with his damn keyboard (keyboard make/model unknown). This was confirmed by ASUS according to him. Once keyboard was replaced it worked just fine. Mine is a relic (logitech g15) and the screen has been acting funny. Bios update says something about solving compatibility issues. Could this be the case with me as well? Status code suggests memory issue yet a usb devise can be the culprit?? Is that even possible?

I really think your BIOS was corrupted. And yeah USB keyboard, or any USB device can cause all sorts of havoc on boot up for the bios if they are 'problematic' shall we say.

Will check back and see how your system is doing. Please feel free to post up any further strange behaviour of your bios display graphics.

Ok so I spoke too soon. Problem started again. I ordered another keyboard along with some other things. I should have it in a few days. I've been busy and haven't had time to mess with it. I do think you're correct about bios corruption though. As far as I know, that's the only thing that can cause insane display errors.
In the mean time I will clear cmos and flash back the bios to stock again after work and hope for the best.

Set the XMP profile for the memory. I suspect it's not fully stable so is failing training at times.

I set the XMP profile. Both option 1 and 2. Same issue. I'm assuming it's this retarded usb keyboard thinig since the lcd screen has been acting differently since the start. Once these new items come in, I'll be able to rule out one cause. I'm kinda worried that the next thing will be the board getting bent out of shape and complaining about this closed loop water cooling kit I ordered.
I'll reply back if I manage to figure out the cause that way if anyone else happens to fall upon this issue, they will have information to work with.

*Update*
While cleaning closet I found an old microsoft keyboard and plugged that in. Same issue so that's one cause ruled out. Cleared cmos, and all that jazz then ran the update via the bios ezflash2. Everything went smoothly until you need to redo settings in the bios. This is the screen issue I was talking about.

Luckily I know the location of everything I need/use so navigation isn't impossible. That only happens once though. After reboot, everything goes back to normal. I'll have to keep trying.
