VI Formula - Ethernet Dropout on Sleep/Restart

Hi all,

I have an Maximus VI Formula board and have noticed some strange behaviour with the onboard network adapter.

I have just built my computer (bought the board on 3 March this year) - only installed Windows 7 64-bit, drivers that came on the CD, done windows updates - and have noticed weird behaviour with my network (Ethernet cable) connection.

I have noticed that - whenever the computer goes to sleep or if I restart it - windows does not connect to my network and says that the Ethernet cable has been disconnected.

Looking at the box - there are no lights on the port. Unplugging and plugging the cable back in does nothing (either at the motherboard end or the router end).

Its almost as though the Ethernet port has decided to turn itself off (even though windows doesn't report it as disabled or anything).

However - if I shut down the computer then turn it back on - the connection comes back fine and stays on fine.

I have other computers connected to my router both wirelessly and wired (running windows 7 64-bit) and they are running fine.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this issue before (I searched the forums with no success) ?

Driver details from device manager about the network adapter:

Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-V

Driver Provider: Intel
Driver Date: 30/05/2013
Driver Version: 12.8.33.0

My current setup is as follows:

Update on this:

It appears to have been resolved by ensuring the ports on my Fritz!box 7390 were to "Always on" for gigabit ethernet.
