V Formula-Z Mic too quiet

Hi everyone,

I built myself a new PC last weekend and everything is working just fine. Yesterday I wanted to record my voice and it's not working at all. 😞

Problem description:
My headset is plugged in. When I start recording my voice you can't barely hear me. The mic is just too quiet and when I scream at it it shows me 1/10 bars in control panel. If I plug the mic into my Laptop it works.

What I've tried so far:
- Microphone inputs in the front and back of my case
- HD Audio and AC97 in Bios
- AMD, RealTek and standard Windows drivers (newest drivers)
- Microphone properties in control panel all at max

Hardware:
Mainboard: Asus V Formula-Z
Case: Corsair 750D
Headset: Sennheiser PC 320

Running Windows 8.1

Is there something else I can do?

Thank you all for your advices.

This worked for me. I noticed some improvement when I did this, but still not loud enough I think. But feel free trying it. I had the best results for my mic without the drivers.
1) open up the realtek audio manager
2) click the gears next to the minimize and exit buttons
3) under recording devices, set it to "Separate All Input Jacks As Independent Input Devices"
4) let the program refresh. If you plugged the 3.5 mm mic to the back it will say " Mic in at Rear Panel(Pink)." Otherwise, it will say front panel
5)Raise the recording volume to max, Do microphone boost if you want.

Thanks for your suggestion but no luck so far.

Here is a voice test at maximum settings and +20DB boost.

The driver that I'm using is from RealTek (v. 6.3.9600.16384)

Is there a mic switch on the headset you're using to record? Is it on? I'm not calling you dumb, I just know I overlook simple things sometimes. I'm not sure where the hangup could be. You tried this headset on another system? Or whatever mic you're using?
