Is there any benefits from upgrading from a Crosshair V Formula to a C5F-Z in terms of overclocking?

Nope none at all.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.

you mean besides the support for up to 2400Mhz RAM?

I'm glad this question was asked. Not because i'm thinking about upgrading atm, but because i'm currently running Trident-X 2400 RAM 2x4GB on my CrosshairV. I have had no problem at all using the DOCP profiles to use 2400. I've read many threads saying users were having issues running at these speeds. I dont understand. My setup is 24/7 also with 8150.

I don't mean to hijack thread, but can someone answer this question.

1. Since I'm already running @ 2400Mhz, am I really running at 2400? i mean CPUID tells me so, so does the BIOS? But how can I be if 2400 isn't supported on Crosshair V only on CrossHair V-Z.

I disagree with you. The Z version has improved power phase 8+2+2 vs 8+2 on the older Cross hairs V. That could mean slightly better heat when overvolting.

Since there is a difference in the Power Phase design, will better overclocking speeds will be obtained, if for example the same FX-8350 CPU is used, will there be more stability? On my C5F, I am running at 4700 MHZ, with 16GB of memory using 4x4. At 4800 the system is not as stable as with 4700. I do get once in a while the usual BSOD screen. I am also using Windows 8. I was just wondering if there would have been any differences using the same setup but with the C5F-Z mobo.
Thanks for your input.

P.S. It may be more advisable to wait for a newer C?-? design.

Any new rumors from Asus in regards to a new mobo release?

All memory over 1600 is OC'd. You are indeed running @ 2400 OC'd.
The board doesn't support 4.2ghz cpu's either, because there aren't any .. at this time,
but you will find it will run even a phenom easily @ that speed.c.

With the right cooling solution this is moot.
With all due respect os2wiz/OP .. trust if HiViz says there is none .. then, there is None.c.

No news. It's AMD's move.c.

I'm afraid HiVizMan Stated it correctly, because the CHVFZ is a refresh for Over Clocking and Windows 8 Compatibility. The only advantage is the new Onboard Sound Solution but with only that it's still not worth upgrading because it's still only a Crosshair V Formula and nothing more. The extra Power Phase's are only for OC'n along with the LN2 Mode. I don't know of any gamer personally that uses LN2 just to play Crysis! to me that would be Way to Much strain on the Board and CPU.

Now on the other hand if your just into OC'n and do nothing else with the system then it might be worth considering.

As to Memory anything over 1333 is OC'd memory. This sad fact was reported to me by Samsung and Micron/Patriot and as both stated just because it states that it will do better only means that the chips have less imperfections and are able to withstand the higher frequencies longer. The Better Binned they are the Faster they might achieve but even then they can't say how long they might last. Quote from Ben C. of Patriot ' It's better to go with a DDR3 1600 Module than an 1866 because the difference in speed isn't noticeable and they will last longer plus they are more efficient.' I can agree with this because I've personally have seen a 1600 vs 1866 while playing Crysis 2 and there was no difference in the game play what so ever.
