I'm using the bios updater utility for new cpu's, it's moving very slow; it's faster if you do it from bios, using an usb stick.
Download the file again, use another program to extract the archive.

sometimes usb stick also not right format and that prevent flashing

The trick is quiet simple. When you have the BIOS archive on your desktop, DON'T right click it and choose extract to. Double click the archive and grab manually the file on your desktop, then place it on the root of your Drive c. Restart your system spamming del to enter in BIOS then flash it with Ez tool.

I was able to flash it using EZ-Update on AI Suit 3.

I did that, just grabbed the file out instead of extracting.. Both wouldn't let me update in bio's to 2702 saying file type was invalid. AI Suit 3 EZ Update took it no problems tho.

Such a pain.. I already did the previous updates like the processor update etc. Now seems my Ethernet is intermittently deciding to stop working. Had an issue downloading a game on steam mid through. Hoping it was just a glitch. If not i'll rerun the drivers for LAN.

I always right click and select extract all and I haven't had an issue since asus released the botched 2601. I also used aisuite 3 to update and I didn't have any issues with it.

Hey people !

Just a quick question i'm on the 2012 BIOS with my Ranger do i need to update to 2601 and then to 2702 or can i just update directly to 2702 ?

Thanks.

Edit: Never mind i updated directly.

Its ok, you don't need to update it incrementally.

I noticed you guys are updating to bios ver 2702. I normally keep my bios (MAXIMUS VII FORMULA) up to date but decided to wait recently since
it is for 5th gen cpu's.
Are you guys having any types of issues since updating to bios 2702? Im wondering if there is any other benefits with this bios other than
5th gen cpu compatibility.

IDK, I for one always update to a newer bios regardless of the benefits, but that's just me, I always want the latest drivers for every thing.

I also use a site that regularly has the latest chipset, mei, lan, & audio drivers and rarely use Asus web site for drivers.

Outside of that I always use the ASUS bios update feature.
