Tweaks for the Extreme Z

Hi all, basically i just wanted any minor tweaks nothing major like overclocking, but i don't mind any info you guys might want to provide, just leaving it here for others with the same board might want to know these lil tweaks will do. such as disabling "Marvell Storage Controller" if not in use.

Specs:
Motherboard: Maximus IV Extreme Z [Bios Version 1004]
CPU: Intel i7-2600k 3.4ghz

Which brings me to my question, I'm running at the moment-
1x Sata extension cable connected to the grey slot - no device like ssd attached to the cable.
1x SSD Patriot 120GB 6gb/s as you can see in the 2nd pic through the - intel
1x Blu-Ray DVD-RW Drive - Marvell

1. The Blu-Ray DVD-RW for some reason cannot be connected anywhere else [connected to different sata port, having tried grey as its 3gb/s, same with the intel as both drive will not be detected via the bios. i want to do this cause i want to totally disable marvell controller as i have read it may cause increase in slight boot time? clues?? lol

2. Also anything you guys have done to your bios to speed anything up, maybe disable something, any changes that you would do in the screenshots i have provided.

Hello mate

Sorry for the delay but I have no idea how I missed this post. I tend to get to them all in a day. My sincere apologies.

I use the marvell connectors for my optical drives. Does not impact on the start time for me mainly because I never power off. But two seconds is the normal time it takes to identify the optical drive I have connected.

As to speed issues I have no idea what kind of time delay you are having. My system takes about 40's to get to OS from boot. OS is that point when your LED goes over to AA.

What happens there after can take forever if you have heaps of stuff starting up in OS.

USB storage devices connected to the motherboard will slow up your boot time to. Some folks have reported that they hang quite badly in fact. I have not had that except with USB3 devices.
To help us help you - please provide as much information about your system and the problem as possible.
