Hello again !

Thanks for your help with my last issue 😄

I have a new error showing in my event logs.

": The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS. In some situations, this error may cause the computer to function incorrectly."

Hello seanmack,

Have you updated the bios to the latest version?

I have read on the forum here that there are compatability issues with ssd's that use the sandforce controller and Haswell.

Maybe try another ssd?

Hey again Nate152. You're a helpful person that's for sure 😄

I looked that suggestion up and found this thread http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?34217-Sandforce-SSD-not-supported-by-Haswell&

Praz mentioned that the "SF2xxx series (SATA 6Gb/s) have no issue with Haswell."

I confirmed my SSD is running the SandForce® Controller SF-228.

And i'm running the latest bios on my board with updated ssd firmware.

OK, I searched around the net for about a half hour and this is what I found.
Go down to where it says comments.

Cheers for that.

It seems quite a few of us are facing these ACPI issues as per http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?48808-Help-Multiple-ACPI-Errors&country=&status=

I have messaged one of our moderators to see if they can escalate these issues with Asus Tech Management 😄

In that case your bios or ssd shouldn't be what is causing the problem. Let's see what else we can find on this.

After reading through that thread, that's a good idea. It seems they think it is more software related than hardware related. AI suite and Driver sense II.

Do you have performance problems or BSOD's or anything like that?
