Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to help narrow down the root of this problem. I'm pulling my hair out here
Two days ago I was happily running 4 x 4GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 1866Mhz on my ASUS Maximus Gene V using it's XMP profile.
I came home from work last night and tried to boot the system, black screen.
I then tried flipping the power switch for a few seconds and back on, the q code on the motherboard shows 59 "CPU micro-code is not found or micro-code update is failed"
I reset CMOS which allowed me into the BIOS.
Only 8GB of the installed 16GB is recognised. The GPU DIMM post however shows all 4 sticks are installed and running.
I removed the Crucial RAM replaced it with a single 2GB Kingston 1333Mhz. This runs fine and I'm able to boot into Windows with it installed. I have tried this in each of RAM slot and they all run fine with this stick installed.
I then went back to the Crucial RAM installing one stick at a time. I discovered that I'm able to boot with it at 1333Mhz but anything over and above 1333Mhz causes the 59 error code. The BIOS still only recognises 8GB from the 16GB installed
At this point I'm wondering if it's a fault on the motherboard or the IMC or maybe even something else?
I have updated the BIOS to 1903 but the problem persists.
Can anyone help?
