strange issues with latest bios (1604)

suddenly , changing the cpu multiplier in bios stopped working . for example i changed it to 45 , during post it shows cpu freq @ 4500mhz , then once in windows , max freq is 3700 (under load) .
loaded bios defaults ,changed multi to 45 , same thing . once in windows cpu freq was up to 3700 .
uninstalled asus ai suite - no change .
then switched to second bios chip (original 0257) and walla , everything works fine .
switched back to the first chip , no good ...
finally , cmos reset solved it .
it worked for couple of tries , then got stuck again , now its stuck at 4400mhz , and changing the multiplier had no effect .
i reset the cmos once again , and so far its working .but i dont know when its going to go crazy again .

board is MVE

What's qtc? Does that mean we can get it next week? Or another delay? I can't even get over stock anymore, so fed up with this. 400dollar motherboard and i can't even overclock with it? Why don't i just get a biostar or foxconn board? Im not sorry for being angry, this has been going on for WAY too long, and you guys don't even seem to care........

Could you clarify what that means?

I just updated to this bios and been reading this thread...I think it means quality control so don't think it's coming next week.

By the way...does this issue happen if I was to just change settings to XMP and disable my chassis fan settings? It's all I'm planning to change in bios.

yes, I had this issue happen only at memory @ XMP and altered fan control settings.

well I for one am getting very frustrated with stuck multipliers

only had this issue with 1604 - so the sooner the new bios comes out the better 🙂

This is what i received earlier today after submitting an inquiry through official Asus Tech Support mail:

Dear customer

Unfortunatelly, at the moment does not exist an official date about the new version of the BIOS. Please try to control periodically the Asus site in the next period.

Thank you for contacting ASUS Technical Service.
